I-459/Derby Parkway

We provided environmental and roadway design for a new interchange along I-459 at Derby Parkway. One of the first of it kind in Alabama, where the proposed cross road was designed to go under the existing interstate, while maintaining interstate traffic during construction. Therefore the exit and entrance ramps were designed to handle 50 mph construction traffic while the bridge was built. The bridge also used existing steel from another steel bridge that was removed to reduce cost.
